All of the outdoor and indoor fun you need in one place!

By Christina Skeldon April 12, 2024

It somehow feels like we were just talking about February vacation and all of the fun winter outdoor and indoor activities you could do to keep those kiddos busy and happy. In typical New England fashion, it seems as though Spring came overnight. While I am not hopeful rain is completely in our past, we are finally getting a glimpse at the light at the end of our dreary tunnel and are ready for some Springtime fun. With the kids home for the week next week, avoid listening to “I’m booooored” all week long by stopping into Rock Paper Scissors in Duxbury this week. I just got a sneak peek at a ton of new stuff they got in for kids of all ages and I couldn’t be more excited to dive into some indoor and outdoor fun with my little guys!

Craft-tastic craft kits are always a good idea! This enchanted garden and nature lantern craft kit are a great way to connect outdoor adventure to indoor crafting. Let your little one's creativity soar as they collect pieces of nature for their new craft project. These require little parent supervision, are a great project to keep them busy and will last a long time afterwards.

In my house, puzzles and legos are my go-to indoor activities for my boys. Could it be because of the minimal mess they create? Possibly! But the benefits that both come with are endless! Puzzles are a great way to develop patience and reflection. They also are great for the development of fine motor skills, visual motor and visual perception skills, cognition, eye- hand coordination, spatial awareness and so much more! Playing with Legos can enhance young kids' creativity and problem-solving skills, fostering imagination and spatial awareness in an engaging and constructive manner. Additionally, building with Legos encourages fine motor skills development, promoting patience and perseverance as they construct and manipulate the colorful bricks. Rock Paper Scissors has you ready with endless new puzzles and lego kits!

Nothing makes me happier than watching my boys get excited (while having fun and learning) with a STEM kit. RPS is FILLED with the most fun science kits and experiments for kids of all ages. From rocket building to plant mazes and everything in between, your science loving kiddos will be busy with all of the hands on learning opportunities available!

The temps are warmer and with that, the kiddos want to be outside! Yes, please! From the The Boredom Busting Box to Big Wheels and Banwood Bikes, outdoor fun is easy with all of the great ideas that RPS provides! I am so excited for all of the fun outdoor toys and games that will continue to come in as the weather gets warmer and warmer!

Kim and her staff at Rock Paper Scissors are true experts when it comes to finding the right toy, game or activity for your kiddos. So if you are unsure of where to start or what will be the best fit for your child, be sure to ask – they always nail it when it comes to choosing the right thing. While you are there, make sure you grab something for your next birthday party gift. Is anyone else drowning in birthday party invites?! I love how going to RPS is a one stop shop for everyone!
